The Shire of Ravensthorpe is experiencing rapid growth as a result of the decision by BHP Billiton to proceed with the Ravensthorpe Nickel Project with a residentially based work force.

As result of this growth and the demand on Council services, and to meet the associated challenges, Council is adapting it's structure to ensure timely delivery of services to the community.

It is an exciting time in the Ravensthorpe Shire with the development of huge community based infrastructure including:

* Residential Subdivisions in Hopetoun and Ravensthorpe
* Industrial Land Subdivisions
* Development of housing
* A new Primary School in Hopetoun
* Upgrade of the Ravensthorpe District High School
* Upgrade and development of Community and Sporting facilities
* New Waste Water treatment plant and sewerage system for Hopetoun
* New Airport
* Major Capital Roads improvement Project
