The beautiful white sand beaches of the Shire of Ravensthorpe are among the most pristine and untouched in Australia.

Our popular campgrounds offer toilets, gas barbecues, easy beach access and ideal spots for swimming, fishing and whale watching.

Fees and bookings

Campsites are $21 per night, per site. This fee covers one accommodation vehicle. Additional charges apply for extra vehicles sharing the same site.

All campsites must be pre-booked and paid online before arrival.

Mason Bay 

Mason Bay is located 38 km east of Hopetoun and is accessible by 2WD via Southern Ocean Road, a scenic coastal drive.

This bush campground is set right on the beach and includes long drop toilets and dump points.

There is no power available, although generators are permitted. Please bring your own drinking water, as there is no potable water on site.

Phone reception can be intermittent throughout the campground, although coverage is now available in some areas near the Starlink tower at the entrance.

Mason Bay is the perfect place to switch off and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Please note: Priority booking for the summer months is no longer available. All sites can be booked up to 210 days in advance and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Families who usually plan their stay around VacSwim are encouraged to book early to avoid missing out.

Starvation Bay 

Starvation Bay is a family friendly campground that is very popular with both visitors and locals.

Located 48 km east of Hopetoun, it is accessible by 2WD via the scenic Southern Ocean Road.

This bush campground is set right on the beach and includes long drop toilets and dump points.

There is 4WD access to the beach and boat launching facilities nearby, although restrictions apply during the January VacSwim program.

There is no power available, although generators are permitted. Please bring your own drinking water, as there is no potable water on site.

Phone reception can be intermittent throughout the campground, although coverage is now available in some areas near the Starlink tower at the entrance.

Hamersley Inlet 

Hamersley Inlet offers a peaceful campground setting within Fitzgerald River National Park.

The campground is accessible by 2WD and includes toilets, gas barbecues and a small nearby boat launch.

Phone reception can be intermittent in some parts of the campground, although coverage is now available in areas near the Starlink tower.

Hamersley Inlet is ideal for fishing, nature study, relaxing and wildflower spotting. Visitors can also enjoy nearby walking opportunities, including the Hakea Walk Trail.
