THE DECK

The Deck Gallery Gift Shop is situated in the heart of Hopetoun, it has been created in the Old Post Office building (originally built in 1901) and recently renovated to create a modern living link to the towns rich history. The Deck's gallery focuses on "Images of the Fitzgerald" providing an outstanding range of photographic images of the region, there is also a great range of hand selected gifts, books, souvenirs, information and internet access. While you are at The Deck you can relax with a gourmet ice cream, coffee or light refreshments. The sheltered decks and garden setting make it a very popular venue.

At The Deck complex you can also visit The Southern Ocean Discovery Centre, an interpretive display on the region's coastline, marine life and the Fitzgerald River National Park. In the display area you can use a high powered telescope to view the sea lion colony that live on seal island, just off shore, a very popular activity for visitors.
