About the role

The Shire of Ravensthorpe is seeking a highly self-motivated and experienced person to fill the Full Time position of Parks and Gardens Labourer/ Utility Worker Ravensthorpe, within our Infrastructure Services Team.

As a Parks and Gardens Labourer/ Utility Worker you will be responsible for all duties which assist with the maintenance and presentation of areas such as: parks, gardens and the general town site of Ravensthorpe in a manner that is attractive to the community and visitors. You will operate as part of a team to ensure productivity and quality results are achieved in Parks and Gardens.

As a Parks and Gardens Labourer/ Utility Worker you shall demonstrate experience in the following: operating machinery (e.g bobcats, tractors, and ride on mowers, street sweepers, and small hand tools), working in horticulture, landscape gardening and general maintenance, working in a manual laboring environment, ability to work in all-weather conditions in line with safety procedures. You will also have demonstrated knowledge in horticulture practices, chemical handling and an understanding of traffic management techniques and signage requirements.

Applicants must have or be willing to successfully obtain:

o White Card

o Current HR license as a minimum

o Certificate in operating and maintaining a chainsaw

o Traffic management certificate

o Certificates in machinery operations or equivalent

o Pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol.

o National police clearance.

A total salary package from $80,006pa will be offered dependent on qualifications, skills and experience as per the Ravensthorpe Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2020.
