The Shire of Ravensthorpe is looking for a highly self-motivated, enthusiastic, team focused person to join our Ranger Services Team.  Please note this position has no set closing date and all applications will be shortlisted as submitted with the view to immediately appoint the successful person to the position.


** If you’re just starting out your career and have no Ranger qualifications we will consider taking an applicant on as a Trainee Ranger where you will gain essential experience as a Ranger in Local Government. You will complete on the job and external training in: Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 and 2, Dog and Cat Management and Control; and Firearm handling to name a few. As a Ranger you shall hold a current C class license as a minimum and demonstrate essential experience as a Ranger in Local Government while enforcing the relevant Act’s, Local Laws, Legislation and successfully completed training in Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 and 2, Dog and Cat Management and Control; and Firearm Handling. You will also have or be working towards a Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services).


A total salary package will be offered dependent on qualifications, skills and experience as per the Ravensthorpe Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2020. The salary package offered will include up to the following:


  • Ranger base salary up to a level 5/4 at $38.49 per hour or $76,066 per year;
  • Superannuation up to 15% including co-contributions;
  • Ravensthorpe allowance up to $100.00 per week ($5,200 per year) and only applies to Staff that reside within the Shire of Ravensthorpe;
  • Annual leave of 4 weeks per year plus 17.5% leave loading;
  • Public holidays
  • Uniform allowance as per Council policy
