2024 community survey now open

Published on Friday, 19 January 2024 at 8:56:45 AM

The Shire of Ravensthorpe is currently reviewing the Strategic Community Plan.

All local governments are required to produce a plan for the future under S5.56 (1) of the Local Government Act 1995 (the Act).

It is standard process to undertake minor reviews and update the Strategic Community Plan.

As part of this 2024 review we are kindly asking the community to take part in a short survey to help us understand key areas to improve.

What is a Strategic Community Plan?

The Strategic Community Plan sets out the community’s vision and priorities for the future, and the key strategies we will focus on to achieve our aspirations.

 The purpose of the plan is to:

  • guide Council’s medium-term plans and annual budgets
  • provide the basis for working with our community and partners to achieve the vision
  • provide the basis to pursue funding by demonstrating how projects align with the aspirations of our community and the strategies outlined in the plan and;
  • provide a framework for monitoring progress

Another survey! Why should I bother?

The responses to this survey will influence where our energies will be applied in forthcoming years.

This includes funding and budget allocation.

Your suggestions are important and will be considered.

This survey is the first round of community engagement in 2024.

There will be more opportunities in the coming months to share your thoughts with us at a series of community events and workshops.

The next round of community engagement events will be informed by the results of this first survey.
