The Shire of Ravensthorpe’s Integrated Planning Framework guides long-term decision-making and service delivery. It brings together the Shire’s key strategic, operational and financial planning documents adopted by Council.
The framework ensures Council decisions are informed by community priorities and are financially sustainable over time.
The Long Term Financial Plan supports the Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan by outlining the Shire’s financial position and forecasts over the long term.
The Annual Budget details the services, projects and activities to be delivered in the financial year and how they will be funded.
The Annual Report provides a summary of the Shire’s performance and financial results for the previous financial year.
If you require further information about the Shire’s planning documents or would like these documents in an alternative format, please contact the Shire.
Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP) 2024
The CHRMAP outlines how our coastline may change in the future and recommends the best options for managing future potential hazards and risks.
The Hopetoun region has been identified as an erosion hotspot. This means coastal erosion is expected to impact on public and private physical assets within 25 years.
Several treatment options for erosion at Hopetoun are detailed in the CHRMAP.

Ravensthorpe Airport Master Plan 2024
Ravensthorpe Airport is a key community infrastructure asset that provides critical access to capital city facilities in Perth.
The Shire is ultimately seeking to leverage current closed charter (FIFO) demand to establish scheduled air transport (RPT) services between Ravensthorpe and Perth for the benefit of the local community and to attract new visitor markets.
The Ravensthorpe Master Plan 2024 seeks to address the following priority objectives with respect to future infrastructure and facilities at Ravensthorpe Airport to:
- Cater for potential future air transport services
- Cater for future growth in general aviation activities
- Cater for future emergency services and aeromedical aircraft operations

Economic Growth Strategy 2023
Without economic success the social benefits provided to the Ravensthorpe community will be negligible. Fortunately, the Ravensthorpe Shire is undergoing strong economic growth generated by mining, agriculture and a growing tourism sector.
The Economic Growth Strategy 2023 looks at ways to build business and tourism in the region.

Tourism Strategy 2023
Glamping at Starvation Bay? Eco huts for rent at Hamersley Inlet? These are just two suggestions you'll find in the Tourism Strategy 2023.
Research shows many tourists routinely bypass the region during their travels to or from Esperance. Our goal is to enhance tourism numbers and accommodate the potential influx of visitors.
A way to do that is to leverage the region's primary asset, which is its wealth of natural tourism experiences like colourful wildflowers, scenic hikes, and stunning beaches.
The key opportunity lies in implementing effective marketing strategies that highlight the region's unique offerings.
