About the role

The Shire of Ravensthorpe is seeking a highly self-motivated and experienced person to fill a full-time position of Heavy Plant Operator/ Labourer within our Infrastructure Services Team.

 

As a Plant Operator you will be responsible for all duties which assist with Shire road construction and maintenance as well as operating trucks and machinery to support the delivery of the Shire’s works program effectively and efficiently. You will work as part of a team to ensure productivity and quality results are achieved in road maintenance and construction.

 

As a Plant Operator/ Labourer you shall demonstrate strong experience in road construction, including the operation of trucks, loaders, backhoes, bobcats, rollers and other miscellaneous plant and equipment. The successful applicant will be provided with training and support required for the position.

Conditions

Applicants must have or be willing to successfully obtain:

  • White Card
  • Current HC license (however MC is preferred)
  • Heavy Machinery tickets
  • Pre-employment medical including hearing, musculoskeletal and drug and alcohol testing.
  • National police clearance (no more than 3 months old).

This is a Level 4 role offering a total remuneration package up to $89,731 per annum. The final salary will be determined in accordance with the Ravensthorpe Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2023 and will reflect the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.

    About the role

    The Shire of Ravensthorpe is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Ranger to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a positive impact on the community.

     

    As a Senior Ranger, you will lead and manage a small team of rangers providing guidance, training and support to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of a customer-focused Ranger service to the Shire’s residents, businesses and visitors.

     

    You shall hold a current C class license as a minimum and demonstrate essential experience as a Ranger in Local Government while enforcing the relevant Act’s, Local Laws, Legislation and successfully completed training in Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS) 1 and 2, Dog and Cat Management and Control; and Firearm Handling. You will also have or be working towards Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services).

    Conditions

    Applicants must have or be willing to successfully obtain:

     

    • Previous experience in a senior ranger or similar leadership role within local government or a related sector
    • Demonstrate ability to motivate and support team members
    • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proven problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
    • First Aid certificate
    • Certificate IV in Government (Ranger Services) or equivalent qualifications
    • Current C class drivers’ licence
    • Pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol
