In the lead up to the local government election on Saturday 18 October 2025, the Shire of Ravensthorpe is providing information sessions for potential candidates.
Now is the perfect time to start thinking about if you would like to give back to your community and stand for Council.
To be eligible to nominate as a candidate for a local government election you must be registered on the WA Electoral Commission electoral roll as an elector of the district (residential or owner/occupier) and over 18 years of age.

Anyone who is considering standing for Council is encouraged to come along to the sessions in Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun.
Shire of Ravensthorpe Chief Executive Officer Matthew Bird will be at each session and will talk prospective candidates through the process and answer any questions on how Council operates.
All are welcome to attend. Alternatively, please call the Shire office on 9839 0000 and speak to Matthew Bird directly.
