The Shire of Ravensthorpe invites the community to come together for the 2026 Australia Day celebrations at the Hopetoun Community Centre on Monday 26 January.

The morning will begin with a free community breakfast from 8 am, followed by the official Australia Day ceremony at 9 am.

Australia Day is a time for all Australians to reflect, respect and celebrate. We also recognise the contributions and achievements of dedicated locals through the Australian Citizen of the Year Awards.

These awards recognise individuals and organisations making a notable contribution or providing outstanding service to our community and we celebrate all nominees and recipients as role models who inspire us with their achievements.

The finalists for the 2026 Community Citizen of the Year Award are:

Jennifer Biddulph

Colin Hughes

Helen Laycock

Michelle McLeod

Sharee Saunders

This year’s celebrations will also feature a special citizenship ceremony, with up to eight local residents expected to take the Australian citizenship pledge.

The Qualup Choir will be joining us again this year and the Shire thanks the choir members for generously giving their time to be part of this community event.

Support from local groups helps make the morning possible and we also thank the Hopetoun Men In Sheds group for their help with preparing the community breakfast.

Everyone is welcome to attend this community celebration.
