Community grants awarded for 2025/26

The Shire of Ravensthorpe Council has approved $67,800 in funding for 15 local groups and organisations as part of the 2025/2026 Community Development Fund.

Funding was available across several different categories including general community grants, community events and major events. 

Applications opened in March 2025 and were endorsed by Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 20 May 2025.

Major events

Council was pleased to support several major events, including providing $10,000 in funding to the new Street to Strip event hosted by the Ravensthorpe Car Club scheduled for 28 Feb-1 March 2026.

The Hopetoun Clay Target Club was also approved for $10,000 funding for the annual Qualup Bell DTL Carnival which is taking place in October 2025.

While the Hopetoun Fishing Classic (Southerners Sporting Club) and Marine Week (Hopetoun Progress Association) will both receive $5,000 in funding.

Community events

Several community events were supported by Council including $4,000 to the Munglinup Community Group for the Munglinup Football Exhibition match in July 2025.

The Ravensthorpe Regional Arts Council will receive $4,000 for the Balmy Nights event set for November 2025.

$2,000 was approved for the Hopetoun Volunteer Fire & Emergency Service to hold a bushfire prevention community event.

Sports clubs

Several sports clubs were successful in their applications this year: Ravensthorpe Tigers will receive $2,500 for sports equipment; Munglinup Golf Club is set to receive $3,500 to replace a commercial fridge; and Ravensthorpe Tennis Club will receive $3,500 for tennis coaching.
