Continued vandalism a problem in Hopetoun

A popular park table overlooking the beach at Hopetoun has been destroyed in another act of vandalism.

It is estimated the cost of repairing the table will be at least $3,500, and it will take considerable time to carry out this work.

Vandalism of public infrastructure and facilities has become more frequent in Hopetoun recently, with our staff often repairing objects that are being damaged repeatedly such as doors and toilets.

While our team is always happy to carry out repair work, this continued extra work due to vandalism does mean they spend less time on other essential services for the community.

The Shire strongly urges anyone with information on these acts of vandalism to please contact the police.
