The Ravensthorpe Entertainment Centre has been set up as an assembly point for firefighters and emergency personnel while they fight a large bushfire in the Fitzgerald River National Park.
Local DBCA firefighting units are being joined by firefighters from across the state and they will use the grounds to house temporary buildings and accommodation, such as dongas and tents.
The firefighters will be sleeping at all hours of the day and night, so we ask the community to please stay away from the tents.
The Ravensthorpe gym at the REC is now closed until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.
Please take care when driving into Ravensthorpe as emergency vehicles are active in the area.
The Fitzgerald River National Park is closed.
