The Shire of Ravensthorpe congratulates Ian and Chenda Goldfinch who were both awarded an Order of Australia Medal on Australia Day.
The Australian Honours and Awards system recognises the outstanding service and contributions of Australians, with recipients from right across the country and from all walks of life.
Both Ian and Chenda were recognised for their decades worth of service to the Ravensthorpe community.
In addition to the Order of Australia Medal, Chenda Goldfinch was also announced as the latest citizen to be given the honorary title of Freeman of the Shire.
This is the highest honour our Council can bestow upon a community member.
Shire President Tom Major said it was a proud day for our community.
"It was a great privilege to recognise Chenda Goldfinch as an Honorary Freeman of the Shire of Ravensthorpe," President Major said.
"For Chenda and her husband Ian to also receive Order of Australia Medals made it a huge day for the Goldfinch family and a very proud one for our community! On behalf of the Shire of Ravensthorpe I congratulate them both and thank them for their decades of service."
