The Shire of Ravensthorpe’s new partnership with Track Care WA is already delivering results, with work completed to improve the beach access track at Esplanade West (RA1035) in Hopetoun.

Track Care WA volunteers from Perth and Bunbury joined the Shire team to undertake the works, bringing their time, skills and experience to the project.

The Shire recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Track Care WA, a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation that works alongside government agencies and communities across Western Australia to help protect the environment, maintain access and care for tracks, campsites and visitor facilities.

The partnership creates opportunities for Track Care WA volunteers and the Shire to work together on practical projects across the district, with the Shire providing the materials required for the works.

As well as completing the Esplanade West project, volunteers have been working at Starvation Bay Campground, including widening camping bays and assisting with the care and maintenance of this popular coastal destination.

A big thank you to the Track Care WA volunteers and our Shire team for their work on these projects.

We look forward to continuing the partnership and working together to care for some of our region’s much-loved coastal places.
