New Springdale Rd bridge opens early

Main Roads WA have advised the Shire of Ravensthorpe that the new bridge on Springdale Road in Hopetoun is now open to the public.  

Construction work for the much anticipated new bridge started in June 2023 and was expected to be completed in March 2024.

Situated over the Jerdacuttup River to the east of Orchid Road, the new concrete bridge is a vital addition to the region's infrastructure.

Detours were in place throughout the construction period and Main Roads WA expresses gratitude to the community for their understanding and patience.

Shire of Ravensthorpe Acting Chief Executive Natalie Bell congratulated Main Roads WA on completing the work much earlier than planned.

“I know locals are very happy to have access to that road once more and the new bridge looks fantastic,” Ms Bell said.

“To be completed ahead of schedule, just before Christmas and the busy tourism season, is a wonderful achievement and we thank Main Roads WA and their contractors for their hard work.”
