On Sunday 22 February 2026 approximately 75 firefighters and emergency services support staff attended a debrief at the Ravensthorpe Cultural Precinct following the December 2025 West River bushfire.
The session was emceed by Cr Benno Sutherland, with Dan Sanderson, President of the Bushfire Volunteers Association, chairing the discussion.
A minute’s silence was held to remember Cr Mark Mudie, who died during the fire.
