The Shire of Ravensthorpe is inviting the community to provide feedback on the Draft Council Plan 2026–2036.
The Plan will guide the Shire’s priorities over the next 10 years and has been shaped by community feedback, including consultation undertaken in 2024 and the 2026 Community Scorecard, which heard from more than 280 residents.
Feedback highlighted priorities including roads, economic development, footpaths, trails and cycleways, housing, sport and recreation, health and community services, community safety, parks and reserves, tourism, youth services, community buildings, community engagement and Council leadership.
Shire President Cr Rachel Gibson said the draft Plan was an opportunity for the community to check that Council was heading in the right direction.
“This Plan is about where we want the Shire of Ravensthorpe to be over the next decade and how we work towards getting there,” Cr Gibson said.
“We’ve listened to what our community has told us and used that feedback to help develop the draft Plan.
“Now we want people to take another look and tell us: have we got it right? Are these the priorities that matter to you, and is there anything we need to strengthen or reconsider before the Plan is finalised?”
The Draft Council Plan covers six key areas: economy, community, built environment, natural environment, governance and leadership. It also outlines actions and projects for the first four years.
Some priorities will require the Shire to work with and advocate to the State and Federal Governments, industry and service providers.
These include housing, health services, regional transport, telecommunications, major road investment and economic development.
Following consultation, feedback will be considered and any recommended changes presented to Council before the Plan is considered for final adoption.

Hard copies can be viewed at each Shire administration office Monday to Friday during regular business hours.
The Shire team will also be at the Hopetoun Markets on Sunday 4 October 2026 to answer questions and talk about the draft Plan.
