Under the Local Government Act 1995 (Act), Ordinary local government elections are held every two years on the third Saturday in October.
However, the most recent election was an Extraordinary Election on Friday 12 July 2024 to fill the vacancy after Rachel Livingston resigned.

After each election the Shire of Ravensthorpe Council appoints representatives to internal committees, local community groups, and organisations.
