Bushfires downgraded

Published on Thursday, 23 February 2023 at 12:11:02 PM

Several bushfires across the region have been downgraded overnight as conditions have eased. There is no threat to lives or homes. Please continue to check www.emergency.wa.gov.au for up to date information and please continue to remain vigilant.

Firefighters have spent the night monitoring and patrolling the fires.

The South Coast Highway has reopened between West River Rd and Newdegate Ravensthorpe Rd with a 60km/hr speed restriction. Smoke is still visible in the area. Turn your headlights on and watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.

60km/hr speed reduction remains in place on the South Coast Highway from Munglinup Townsite to 1km east of Neds Corner Road. Please drive with caution.

Thank you to Bush Fire Service volunteers, Career Fire and Rescue Service, Parks and Wildlife Service, SES volunteers, St John, Main Roads, local contractors and farmer response units, all of whom have been in attendance.
