The Shire of Ravensthorpe Council has approved $57,538 in funding for 14 local groups and organisations as part of the 2023/2024 Community Development Fund.
This year funding was available across several different categories including general community grants, community events and major events.
Applications were open in March 2023 and information workshops were held in Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun.
Shire President Keith Dunlop says supporting local groups and events is vital for the future of the region.
“Some of the groups that applied for funding have been around for decades and we want to see them and their events continue for decades to come,” he said.
“Supporting the community to maintain these events, as well as the newer ones on the scene too, is part of Council’s Strategic Community Plan 2020-2030.”
The Shire of Ravensthorpe will contact groups and organisations directly to inform them each of the funding amount.
