The Shire of Ravensthorpe is pleased to announce two dedicated locals will receive the honorary title of Freeman of the Shire this Australia Day.
Under section G.19 of the Shire of Ravensthorpe Council Policy, the title may be bestowed upon “a person who has served the community on a continuous basis for greater than 15 years in an outstanding and meritorious manner.”
The last time a Freeman of the Shire title was bestowed upon someone was 1993.
Please join us in Jim McCulloch Park, Hopetoun on Australia Day to celebrate the very best in our community.
A community breakfast provided by the Hopetoun Progress Association gets things underway from 07.30am, with a performance by the Qualup Choir to follow.
Also taking place are the Community Citizen of the Year Awards and a Citizenship ceremony.
The Freeman of the Shire presentation is due to take place at 09.30am.
