About the role

The Shire of Ravensthorpe is seeking a highly self-motivated and experienced person to assist the Infrastructure Services team in the Full-Time position of Team Leader- Construction.

 

As the Construction Team Leader, you will start your day at the Ravensthorpe Depot and oversee the planning and execution of diverse civil construction projects, including roadworks, drainage, parks, footpaths, and related infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include managing labour, equipment, and materials to ensure safe, efficient operations in line with WHS legislation. You will lead your team to meet project timelines and budgets, handle staff rostering and reporting, manage procurement and resource allocation, and ensure adherence to Shire policies and procedures. Additionally, you’ll coordinate traffic management, engage with contractors and internal stakeholders, and assist the Works Supervisor with project delivery.

 

The successful candidate will have proven experience leading teams in the delivery of civil construction projects, including supervising staff and contractors to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Strong people management skills, along with a solid understanding of construction methods, WHS procedures, and machinery operations, are essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management abilities are also required. Desirable knowledge includes local government regulations and identifying external work opportunities.

Conditions

Applicants must have or be willing to successfully obtain:

 

  • White Card
  • First Aid
  • Current HR licence as a minimum
  • Certificate in operating and maintaining a chainsaw
  • Traffic management certificate
  • Certificates in machinery operations or equivalent
  • Pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol.
  • National police clearance

A total salary package up to $121,426pa will be offered dependent on qualifications, skills and experience as per the Ravensthorpe Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2023.
